At TIS we often invite researchers from Tsukuba’s world-class universities and research institutes to share research related to a topic we are studying. The Grade 4/5 students are doing a unit on Healthcare and Medicine in which they are learning about the human body, diseases and illnesses, the history of medicine, and modern medical practice. Last week a researcher who studies about protein structures explained to us that proteins are found throughout the body and are essential for life.
