Accreditation

Tsukuba International School has been a member of the Council of International Schools (CIS) since 2015, and has been accredited by CIS since 2018.

Authorizations

Tsukuba International School has been authorized for the Primary Years Programme (PYP) of the International Baccalaureate since 2011.
The PYP was evaluated in 2015.

Tsukuba International School has been authorized for the Middle Years Programme (MYP) of the International Baccalaureate since 2014.
The MYP will be evaluated in 2019.

Tsukuba International School has been authorized for the Diploma Programme (DP) of the International Baccalaureate since 2017.

Membership

Tsukuba International School has been a member of the Japan Council of International Schools (JCIS) since 1998.

Recognition of Status

Tsukuba International School is categorized as a “miscellaneous school” (kakushu gakkou, 各種学校, the standard category for international schools in Japan) run by Tsukuba Global Academy, which was recognized as an educational organization (gakkou houjin, 学校法人) by Ibaraki Prefecture in 2009.
