It is with deep sadness and regret that we inform you of the passing of Mr. Masayasu Kano, the principal of Tsukuba International School, on Friday, March 18 of natural causes.
A wake (お通夜) will be held on Wednesday, March 23 at 6:00pm and the funeral (告別式) will be held on Thursday, March 24 at 10:00am, both at Tsukuba Memorial Hall.

We are deeply saddened by this loss, but also confident that the TIS community will pull through these difficult times and continue to be a school that would make Mr. Kano proud.
We have decided, in light of Mr. Kano’s passing, to re-open the school on March 28.
